I was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews about the assembly of this cart. My fears were unfounded though. The assembly was no more difficult than a Sauder product. The packaging was atrocious but nothing was damaged, broken or missing.Before starting on this task, I would recommend laying out and identifying all the parts. Then get yourself some small containers to sort out the hardware. This will be a big help during the construction. Read the instructions thoroughly as you start each step.I used a cordless screwdriver for assembly, I don't recommend trying it without one. Also use a bit of vegetable oil on the screws used for the hardwood parts. A small stool to sit on will make the task more comfortable also.From start to finish including the first coat of butcher block oil was less 2.5 hours, this includes frequent breaks for back relief.All in all, this is not a difficult assembly for someone with a small amount of mechanical skill and a bit of patience.The stand is very steady and does not wobble at all. I have no qualms about putting my microwave on the top.Hope this helps with your decision making.

I recently purchased this microwave cart and I am extremely pleased with it. My other cart was damaged in a move, so I went looking for a replacement......that in itself was an ordeal. I finally found this one and was quite shocked to find out that it was mostly (not 100%) true wood instead of OSB, and the price was extremely great (thanks Amazon and sorry for using extremely twice)! Assembly though was a bit of an operation....my daughter and I started it, but were quite thankful when my husband pitched in, as it was getting a bit heavy and awkward to handle. This is a well thought out and very nicely made piece of furniture. It is solid and very pretty assembled! Buy it, you won't regret it!

This is a lovely piece and very useful. My microwave is too big for it, but I knew that going in. This was my "housewarming gift" for myself - the piece I didn't really Need, but fell for on sight. It holds the dishtowels/cloths in the drawer, the vities and supplements and napkins on top, the bread, salt and pepper, etc. on the "deck" level. And inside, the French fry machine and microwave plate covers. Very nice purchase - but be aware the oil finish? Well it does soak into towels, etc., so be prepared to line it with that nice drawer lining stuff (similar to light rug pad, or jar opening stuff) that Amazon sell by the roll.
