The kitchen island looks very nice and the granite top is a big plus, but the island sways back and forth if you push on it from the sides. In other words, the craftsmanship is not great. Seeing as I made sure to tighten all of the screws to the max, I would certainly recommend using wood glue between the pieces and not just rely on the screws for strength. I remembered to do this about a quarter of the way through putting the unit together, so I wasn't able to benefit from this added reinforcement as much as I could have.

I love, love, love this island. It is just the right size for my kitchen. It was packed extremely well and arrived in perfect condition. Putting it together was easy (as put together things go) and all pieces fit together perfectly. It was a little bit wobbly (possibly due to the weight of the granite) and we were concerned that if someone bumped into it that it might cause a break in a joint somewhere, so my husband reinforced it on the inside of the cabinet and now it is as sturdy as can be. It's nice to have the extra drawer in my kitchen now too. Overall I really do love this island. It looks like we spent way more money for it than we did. It's a beautiful piece of furniture.
