Aspen kitchen island with drop leaf and granite top is constructed of mahogany solids and cherry veneers warmed with a rustic cherry finish. Recessed door panels, a profiled edge top, with black granite 3/4-inch inset top and bold molding detail draw the eye deeper in. Storage function can be found in the four storage drawers and a storage cabinet with one adjustable shelf but what makes this island really unique is the hidden sliding mechanism connected to the back two posts. The mechanism provides easy mobility and independent movement of the two posts for expansion of the breakfast bar. Either with the breakfast bar closed or in use, this piece has a polished look by being consistently styled on both the approach and working sides. Comes with antique bronze hardware. With the breakfast bar extended, the top surface depth expands from 26-3/4-inches to 39-inches. Easy to assemble. Measures 48-inch width by 26-3/4-inch depth by 36-inch height.

Though not the cheapest, this Aspen Kitchen Island was the nicest looking island around and the color was perfect. Seeing no other reviews for it, I decided to take a chance and order it not knowing what to expect. It arrived in a timely manner in 3 huge boxes, and I was more than a bit intimidated at first. However the instructions were perfect, everything was in perfect shape and labled correctly, and it didn't take me long at all to assemble. It's beautiful, it's huge, the storage is fantastic, the drawers, the cupboard, the sliding legs, the counter top- everything is top quality and works perfectly, and I don't have anything negative to say about it. If you're looking for an awsome island and this one is available (sometimes it's not) don't think, just buy. You'll thank me later.

After pondering for several days over which island to purchase, I ended up selecting this product. I was very hesitant to spend that type of money without seeing the item first, but decided to take the plunge and do it, and I am glad that I did. The island arrived two days earlier than promised and was shipped in 5 different boxes. It took my husband a few hours to put the items together but once it was complete, we were very pleased. We ran into a minor problem where they sent the wrong bolts for one of the chairs, but after a quick run to the local hardware store we were able to put the chair together. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

We wanted an island that was going to give us a lot of space and look nice and finished. This was the island we thought could get the job done. So far it is very nice. We have had a few issues with it, but my handy hubbie was able to fix them without a huge headache.the Pros: I love the color of the island. We get lots of compliments on how sleek it looks. it fits a LOT. We have two junk drawers that fit most of our utensils (and we have a lot because we bake a lot), the two other drawers fit a lot fo our ackward items like french fry press, hamburger press, juicer etc, with nice deep drawers. We also keep all of our baking dishes in them and they fit nicely. The deeper cabinet holds a lot of appliance. We currently have a bullet, waffle maker, rice maker, yogurt maker, panini press, hand mixer and a Forman in them. We keep the extension up and use it as a breakfast bar, but the legs are very easy to work (our two year old pushes them in by himself) so it is not a problem to push them back and forth.Cons: it was easy to put together, but the handles were kind of crappy. My husband had to put different screws in to get them to be tight against the drawer. This was not a big deal, but for those that want no extra work this is a minus. The top two drawers also stick sometimes, which again, is not a big deal for us, but for someone else they may be.Overall we love this island and would buy it again.
