Catskill Craftsmen has become the nation's leading manufacturer of ready-to-assemble domestic hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. Catskill Craftsmen manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily Northern Yellow Birch. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. The Deep Storage Island features a solid butcher block top which is safe for food preparation. A convenient drawer and cabinet with an interior adjustable shelf offer an enormous amount of storage, not to mention the side shelves featured on both ends of the island. Locking wheels allow for mobility within the kitchen, or lock in place to provide a stationary work area. The top, legs, braces, drawer, doors and exterior shelves area all solid hardwood, while the side and back panels are warp-resistant veneer. Raised panel doors and drawer add a level of elegance to this functional island.

I searched high and low to find a kitchen cart that I could use when I moved the location of my fridge. I didn't want to get all new cabinets, instead I found this cart to fill-in the bottom and hung a pot rack from the top cabinets to create a kitchen workspace that complimented the existing cabinets. As others have said, this cart takes a while to put together, but it wasn't that hard. Lots of little pieces though, so keep kids and animals away while you're building it. You do need two people for assembly.Pros: All hard wood, good quality hardware and solid.Cons: My doors have a significant amount of variation in the color of the wood. So much so that I thought seriously about ordering replacements from the company. When I put it all together though, it looks great so I left it as is.The shelves on the side are adjustable, so you can stack short or tall items. Things would fall off easily though if you were planning to move this cart around. Also, the back is meant to be against a wall, it's not decorated and it's a think piece of wood.

The positive reviews for this Catskill Craftsmen product are well deserved. This is a well designed, sturdy, functional, attractive, real wood furniture kit, that anyone with moderate skills can assemble in hours. Once assembled, most will choose to stain/polyurethane so the finish will match their kitchen decor. This is a quality product. Highest recommendation!

This is beautifully crafted, quality wood. Pricey, but worth it, and it wasn't too difficult to assemble. I haven't needed to use it, but the guarantee is good.
