Catskill Craftsmen has become the nation's leading manufacturer of ready-to-assemble domestic hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. Catskill Craftsmen manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily Northern Yellow Birch. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. This moderately sized cart offers loads of storage as well as bountiful workspace with the addtion of an eleven inch drop leaf. Additional features include two towel bars, locking caster wheels, side shelves, functional drawer, open and enclosed storage, and food safe butcher block top. Domestic, solid hardwood is used for the top, legs, drawer, doors and braces. Warp-resistant veneer side and back panels allow for precisely machined parts to assemble with greater ease.

I have been in construction for over 12 years and have put together dozens of pieces of cabinets and furniture and this is by far been the worst experience I have ever had, the package showed up looking like it had been repackaged several times the direction were in text with no pictures or examples, none of the pieces were labeled I ended up having to assemble it twice because i was having to guess at what they were asking for and to top it off the hardware that is supposed to lock the drop leaf into place wasnt there so I had to run to lowes. I could'nt be more angry and upset with Amazon and catskill if it hadnt taken so long to get it together I would return it and purchase something for half price on craigslist or Etsy. This is the last catskill product I will ever own and my trust and faith in Amazon has been effected as well.

For the price, I'll buy Sauder next time. The wood was bone dry and very rough. Even after oiling and sanding, it still has a nap.The fit of the pieces was not good at all. There are gaps all over.I too disassembled and reassembled to try to make it better. I intend to redo it again, only use my own assembly methods such as pocket screws, etc.Definitely not worth the money!Other than that, a nice design, looks good in my kitchen.

This cart is absolutely beautiful! I did some research on other products out there, and this seemed to be the best fit for our kitchen. I read other reviews about it taking 8 hours to put together, so I was well prepared to spend the entire day putting the cart together. I systematically followed the instructions, laying out each piece and putting it together step-by-step. I'm not a carpenter or work with construction often, but I do have some sense on how to screw things into place. I was surprised when the entire cart was put together in less than four hours! It does take some patience, but it is worth it- sturdy and beautiful!I highly recommend getting some sort of butcher block oil to oil the entire cart down- gives it a really nice shine and finish. (It would probably be easiest done before putting it all together.) Awesome product. Would recommend it!
