I purchased this elsewhere online after researching kitchen carts/islands for several weeks. I am very pleased with this. It came well packed in heavy boxes, and all of the hardware was there. The odor from the finish was very strong, in fact so strong that I felt a little queasy. I definitely advise anyone who is sensitive to paint or varnish fumes to open the boxes and assemble the item in a well ventinated space, or at least open a window or two. The good news is that the odor does subside after a couple of days.It does take awhile and some patience to put the item together. The directions are ok for someone that knows what they are doing, the pieces are well marked and the hardware was well packed and labled. I highly advise purchasing wood glue to reinforce certain areas of the cart, particularly the drawer bottoms at the top or the island, which are not very thick. This island dresses up my galley style kitchen nicely. The dimensions are great, it only comes out from the wall around 18 inches deep, which doesn't take up a lot of room in my narrow kitchen. I chose not to attach the towel and spice racks to save space. Don't let the photo fool you, there is more space inside than the picture depicts. I have a small food processor, 2 lb bread machine, 4.5 quart slow cooker and a blender stored inside, so that I have all my cooking "gadgets" together. There is also room left over for a notebook binder of my recipes, and some cooking utensils such as long tongs, turkey baster etc. The shelves are adjustable, which is very convenient. The black granite top is beautiful, and adds a touch of elegance to the island.I have found this island to be very satisfactory for my needs. It is sturdy, attractive and meets my needs for storing kitchen gadgets and other items. i have had it for a month and am very happy with it.*UPDATE - March 2013* Do NOT store very much in the top drawers. The bottom of the drawers are rather flimsy, and if you store anything more than a few light things, the drawers give out. In fact, I suggest a way to reinforce them. Otherwise, I am still very happy with this item and receive a lot of compliments on it.

I ordered from Amazon and the Wayfair vendor on Mon and it was all delivered here in KC on Thursday! That is amazing to me. Tracking messed me up because they were only reporting 4 lbs which turned out to be the legs that come in a separate box. Actually the whole thing came in three boxes- the black granite top (81 lbs), the actual cabinet (111 lbs), and the specific legs (4 lbs). I guess this is done so they can mass produce the cabinet and then option in the different colored/types of tops and feet. It weighs a ton so get some help moving even the boxes!I bet it took an hour just to unbox everything. The cabinet was in a box and was in a bunch of pieces ergonomically fit into a large flat outer box. The granite top was in a box sandwiched inside of a wooden crate (!) inside of another box. Way to go, Crosley.Assembly took about three hours by myself why the wife read in the living room for moral support. I did the whole thing by myself except putting the granite top on.Pros: beautiful for four benjamins! I pre-measured this out and I think I use the top measurements because it is slightly smaller than I had thought because the base is a smidge smaller. I really do hope this last for years because it just looks great in our remodeled kitchen.Cons: Yes the smell is strange. We've wiped it down and are leaving the doors open to air out for at least a week before actually using it. The plastic front door hinges may not be the strongest however the extra ones they give you are a plus. The island will never be a family heirloom with it's connect-part-A-to-part-C assembly but it's very functional and snazzy to boot.I've attached front and back (!) pictures to this product page to be able to see it in a real kitchen.

The assembly instructions are very confusing because the diagrams are too small. However, after the assembly was completed, the island looks great.
