This item is so, so much better than I'd hoped. My husband and I recently bought "the" house, which was practically perfect in every way... EXCEPT the kitchen is tiny, storage is limited and soon to be more limited, since there's not a dishwasher and we're sacrificing some of the limited cabinet space to install one. This piece fit seamlessly into an open space in the kitchen. It looks amazing, it's incredibly sturdy (actual wood, not particle board) and it's added at least 30% of usable storage space to our small kitchen and has probably doubled the counter space. We didn't install the paper towel holder so that it would sit flush against the fridge. My husband is a chef and I love to cook, which makes the kitchen one of the most important places in our home. Our kids (4 and 5 1/2) love the breakfast bar, and it makes an ideal surface for them to either eat while I work, or "help" me cook and the SS surface cleans up in a snap. It was probably the easiest piece of furniture that I've ever assembled, they even thought to include extra hardware. My only criticism is that one of the 4 drawers is a bit sticky, but quite frankly, the whole thing is so functional, I wouldn't care if all 4 drawers were stickey! I only wish we had room for a second one, it was, without question, worth every penny.

I received this product today at around noon. It's about 8:30 pm now and I've finally finished putting most of it together. There's just one drawer left. Overall, it looks very nice, but there's some things I'd like to point out:1. A lot of the screw holes were drilled unevenly. In some cases, I couldn't screw in certain pieces without drilling my own holes to get them in place. For example, one of the first steps in the assembly of this cart is to screw the wheels on. There are three holes for each wheel in a triangular shape. For one of the wheels, the holes were lined up properly so I could screw the wheel on. For the others, no matter how I positioned the wheel, one of the holes was out of place. This occurred with several other parts as well.2. Some of the holes weren't drilled flush with the wood. This means screws sometimes go in at an angle, rather than straight. As a result, there are gaps between certain pieces and some pieces can't be tightened properly. I'm going to have to find a way to fill those gaps since a couple roaches find their way into my apartment each week (they crawl in through the drain in the shower, been trying to get the landlord to fix it for two years now) and I definitely don't want to see them in my kitchen cart. There are definitely some significant flaws in workmanship and quality with this product. I'm guessing this varies from cart to cart, so your experience may differ.3. In one case, one of the pre-inserted screws was actually screwed in at an angle. This was for the sliding metal thing that you insert the drawers into. I couldn't put in my middle drawer and couldn't fix the screw, so I had to remove the screw entirely to get the drawer to fit in. I see a similar problem on the bottom rack, so I'm guessing I may have the same problem when I get around to assembling the bottom drawer.4. One reviewer noted that you should put the locking wheels diagonal from each other, rather than both in the front as the instructions suggest. I'd say this reviewer is probably correct. Placing the locking wheels diagonal from each other will keep the cart still. If you follow the instructions, the cart can still slide around in circles.5. The stainless steel top uses a low quality steel. It scratches extremely easily. I gently set a small piece of wood on top of the steel while assembling the cart. When I lifted it back up, there was a large, deep scratch in its place. If other reviewers are anything to go by, I'd imagine this top will be extremely scratched pretty soon unless I figure out some way to protect it.6. There are a lot of pieces and it is very work intensive to put together. You put together just about everything from scratch. If you're like me and don't have an electric screwdriver (and in combination with poorly drilled holes that make screws extremely difficult to screw in), this thing takes forever to put together. It took me eight and a half hours, and the bottom drawer isn't finished.7. The main instruction manual says there is a separate instruction guide for assembling the drawers, but I didn't see one. Also, there weren't enough screws to fully secure the bottoms of the drawers (each drawer has 6 drilled holes, there were only two screws per drawer, so I put them diagonal from each other).Given the caveats above, I'm still glad I bought this product. I live in a small one bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchen. The only counter space I have is occupied by my toaster and microwave, leaving no room for my blender, food processor, slow cooker, or Shun knife block and set, let alone food preparations. I love to cook, but the limited space has made it such a hassle that I end up eating out for almost every meal. That changes today!I'll update this review if I notice any other significant problems with this product. Until then, if this hasn't been updated, you can assume that it hasn't fallen apart and is acting as a beautiful addition to my small kitchen. Time to make some Circassian chicken and hummus :)

If you're looking for a breakfast bar, look no further. Assembly was very simple with the instuctions provided. All of the parts were present, including extra screws, etc.. The non-European hinges, wheels, and drawers work smoothly and the wood is heavy and strong where it needs to be. The stainless top will scratch just like wood but can be polished out and is less of a food safety hazard. If you don't mind the assembly time (it took me about 3 hours), you'll be very happy you purchased it.
