Our cart arrived in a timely manner in two boxes, one for the top of your choosing, and one for the cart itself. The assembly instructions were very easy to follow but I would recommend a second set of hands to hold certain items in place. It probably took me around an our to assemble.Now for the problems. We found a number of scratches in the product, deep enough that the color of the wood shows through the dark finish. The bars for the side rack were cut to the wrong length, they are about 2 1/2 inches to short. Also, there is a very noticeable dent in the front edge of our stainless top. Finally, one of our drawers is severely warped. There is a twist from front to back that does not allow the drawer to shut without force and it looks crooked when closed.Many of the reviews were favorable, so it is possible we received the rare dud. The problems we had were not enough for us to go through the trouble of disassembly to return the product. I would not purchase the product again given the quality I observed.

I was really excited that after many weeks of furniture searches I came across this stylish kitchen island. I liked the fact it is black with a stainless steel counter top and that it matches with the rest of kitchen and home interior. However, once the package arrived and the parts are unwrapped my enthusiasm took a hit, when I realized the parts were in such poor condition.Many parts appeared to be damaged, probably during manufacturing since the shipping packages were fine. Several wood parts were scratched, the plywood on the back was bended and cracked. The counter at the top has a dent on the side and it also has a polishing issue.In addition, several parts were really dirty and covered in dust. There were some tape mark on the exterior finishes that cannot be removed.After I assembled it altogether, the drawers doesn't align well and there is no way to adjust them.I have to say I am REALLY disappointed of the overall quality of an item that costs over $400!!! I can't remember buying anything with so many defects!

I was looking for a nice cabinet island on wheels to go in my kitchen, and this was really the only decent one I could find (and I couldn't find ANY that I could visit in a store to color-compare - they were all online). The price is very good, the quality is nice, especially considering what we paid for it, and my husband was able to set the entire thing up by himself, so I would say that the construction is relatively easy. The drawers are extremely shallow, so you could probably store silverware in it but not most cooking utensils and such. We've been using it for a month now, and it feels very solid. Overall, we're pleased.Our only disappointment is that we were actually looking for a very blonde natural color, to match the off-white and brown brick we have in our kitchen, and from this photo (and, I will admit, other photos of similar items from this company) we were pretty sure that was what we would get. However, the one that we got is extremely golden (almost yellow), so it doesn't match at all, and looks very out of place in our muted kitchen. I was very disappointed, but looking at the photo again, I guess I can see the color going either way, so I inquired about possibly returning it for the oak color before we had even unpacked it. Unfortunately, in addition to return shipping costs, you are also back-charged for the cost to ship to you, and a re-shelving fee. Even with the discount given to Amazon costumers, that adds up to half the total of the item! Without knowing for certain that the oak wouldn't turn out to be more cherry (and thus also not match), we decided against returning it.I am mad at myself, because I bought from Amazon because the price was slightly cheaper, but there are several well-known big-box stores out there that sell this item online for a slightly higher price (with free shipping), but then allow you to return items to your local store at no cost. I wish I had paid a bit extra to be able to return it for free.
