After many hours of searching for a stationary island and reading numerous reviews, I selected this one for my kitchen. It was promptly delivered, and goes together easily; my daughter and I put it together in under an hour. It is heavy, so you will need 2 people.Both the doors and drawer open from either side for easy access. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture, definitely worth the money.

Island arrives in two large flat boxes, fairly heavy. Plenty of Styrofoam packing. So far, so good.Removed all the parts and laid them out in my garage. Assembly instructions were okay.A couple of the predrilled holes were poorly aligned, and one wouldn't work at all. Had to drill a new one.When I got to the legs, (late in the process), I found two with cracks, plus one with an obvious repair.Were it not for the "aged" finish of the piece in the first place, this would have been a deal killer.By this point, the prospect of disassembling everything and figuring out the packing was daunting.Final point; The drawer simply slides on a couple of felt strips. No drawer guides.

I laid my spices in the drawer and my mixing bowls and measuring cups inside the cupboard making this the perfect prep station in my kitchen. Like the style too!
